Banachek, born Steven Shaw, is an English mentalist, magician, and skeptic best known for his role in Project Alpha, in which he demonstrated how parapsychology researchers could be deceived by stage magic. He has consulted for performers such as Penn and Teller and is a fellow of the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry.
